NINJA DRONE concept

An Exercise in 3D CAD Modeling and Rendering - Fall 2018

NINJA Drone was an exercise in 3D CAD modeling and rendering. Taking inspiration from sweeping and bending curves, NINJA conveys stealth through its low profile and stance.

For inspiration, I looked at forms that incorporated smooth sweeps and curves, twists and turns, and a wide aggressive stance.

With the intention of catering the project towards transportation design, I decided to move forward with the concave body type. To keep consistent with the lines of the body, the propeller blades are inset into the top of the form instead of the conventional raised propellers of traditional drones.

The low and aggressive stance and black monochromatic CMF inspired the name “NINJA” because of the stealthy feeling it evokes.

NINJA Drone breaks the norms of the form of a traditional drone. The continuous legs provide support while landing and the inset propellers provide lift, while keeping the profile sleek.
