Re-thinking Waste
Compact living situations often don’t have the space to accommodate waste produced throughout the week, requiring the user to dispose of the waste build up several times. Communal dumpsters and bins are often located in remote areas, such as alleys outside the buildings, and can become inconvenient, and possibly dangerous, to visit so frequently.
STOR is a waste bin that allows the user to be in control of their waste disposal routine. By vacuum sealing bags, STOR acts similarly to a snooze button, delaying how often the user must take the trash to the communal dumpster.

FEATURES

Vacuum sealing technology locks in all odors and prevents any leaks, allowing trash to be stored until more bags have accumulated. STOR reduces the amount of times the user has to make the trip to the communal dumpster.
Stor it
STOR uses custom waste bags with a one way valve. The valve acts as a tab-in-slot sliding into a slot in the middle of the can, giving the bag a place to “live” in the can while also aligning the valve to a vacuum the runs up through the center column of the can. The user would then stretch the bag over the lip on the inside of the can and fill it up as usual.
User scenario
The user fills up their waste bin until the bag is full. Each bag has a one-way valve that slides into the center column of the bin, where the vacuum is located.
Once full, the user presses “SEAL” to vacuum seal their waste bag and “REVOLVE” to move the bag to the storage chamber in the back of the bin.
Now, the front chamber is clear and ready for another fresh waste bag. The first bag sits in the back chamber without leaking or releasing any odors.
Once the second bag is full, it can be sealed and both bags can be removed from the bin. The valves snap together, allowing for easy carry and disposal.
